Hometown Foundation, a registered charity, has bought land in South Lanarkshire as the location for Owenstown.
The Board of Owenstown Co-operative is being formed and an application has been lodged to register the Co-op as a charity. The Co-operative Society will co-ordinate delivery and the preparation of proposals to provide the homes and jobs for the new community.
Geddes Consulting has worked with a project team to develop the concept of Owenstown and undertake extensive consultation on the proposals. The public engagement process will continue the process of identifying suitable partners to take the project forward.
The proposals as presented here will continue to be developed and refined, prior to confirming the technical feasibility and securing planning permission.
